Exhibition: De Carmen à Mélisande

In partnership with the musée Carnavalet, the musée d’Orsay and the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the Petit Palais is dedicating an exhibition to the Opéra Comique. It is one of France’s three oldest theatre institutions – along with the Opéra de Paris and the Comédie Française. Entitled “From Carmen to Mélisande – Dramatic works at the Opéra Comique”, this retrospective puts under the spotlight some of the greatest classic works from its heyday at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Visitors will (re)discover masterpieces such as Pelléas and Mélisande, Manon, Carmen and Lakmé, most of which are still performed around the world.

“De Carmen à Mélisande – Drames à l’Opéra Comique” exhibition, from March 18th to June 28th 2015.
Open Tuesday-Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
Late opening on Fridays until 9pm.
Closed on Mondays.
Full rate: €8 / Reduced rate: €6.
Free for under-17s.
