Data centers to heat the piscine de la Butte-aux-Cailles

The City of Paris keeps conquering green innovations, calling on this time servers to heat the inner basin of the piscine de la Butte-aux-Cailles.

Local authorities at the service of ecology
The City of Paris has called on the French start-up Stimergy, leader in the development of digital heat to equip the site with several “digital boilers”. They work simply. They recover the waste heat of the different servers present in the swimming pool infrastructure, to recycle it then and thus complete the needs for hot water in the inner basin. Thanks to the continuous functioning of the data centers, the production of digital heat is constant. An advance which enables the French capital to distinguish itself internationally and proves that local authorities have a part to play in designing a greener city. An idea confirmed by Christophe Perron, Stimergy founder and CEO: “Swimming pools represent one of the highest energy costs for local authorities. Our data centers are a solution for the future for those areas which are committed to sustainable development, and offer energy performance which is superior to Google’s servers. They allow local authorities and businesses to host their services and data in a secure, economic and environmentally responsible manner.”

This project is said to appear at the autumn 2016.
