Planet Ocean: an app that helps you choose your fish

Goodplanet Foundation has launched a free app called "Planet Ocean" that aims at helping consumers to buy fish from sustainable industries. Simple to use and very instructive, this app lists around a hundred species of fish and shellfish classified by origins, fishing technique and the amount of the remaining stock. Available in French and English for iPhone and Android, Planet Ocean has been made with the database of SeaWeb Europe NGO, which recently published a Species guide for all professionals (fishermen, retailers, wholesale fish merchants and restaurant owners). It lists which species are endangered and which are not. Consumers are then able to make their decision freely.
