Made In(ternational) by Prada

January 10th, 2011 by admin

It is true that when you talk about clothes « made in China » people think”low quality clothes”.Nevertheless, “made in France” clothes are less and less affordable. The newspaper Le Monde annonced recently that only less than 5% of the “ready to wear” sold in France is still”made in France” (you have to know that one minute of manufacturing is 70 times more expensive here that in a country like Thaïland for exemple) That’s why Prada, with it’s new line”made in…” decided to restore the credibility of the “made in China”, by enhancing the work of local craftsmen in some countries. In total collaboration with those craftsmen, Prada offers with its new line a collection of jeans called “Prada made in Japan”, a collection of tartan kilts, “Prada made in Scotland”, a collection of embroidered dresses, “Prada made in India”, and a line of alpaca meshes “Prada made in Peru”. Wearing Prada is a little like travelling around the world through the art of craftsmen who truly deserve to be finally under the spotlight.

A handbag for a day…and Cinderella becomes a green friendly princess!

December 17th, 2010 by admin

Since fashion has a direct impact on households consumption, and therefore on energy consumption and the production of waste and carbon dioxyde, a website had the good idea to offer a more eco responsible fashion. For us girls, buying a new handbag is like adding a piece of jewellery to our collection. It’s hard to stay faithful…and eco responsible . So we feel guilty and we buy eco friendly bags in organic cotton, silk or bache.Yes, it’s the right thing to do, but it’s just so good to walk around like a real Parisian girl with a Chanel or Yves Saint Laurent handbag! Here is the solution: Sac d’un Jour,a website that offers you to rent luxury hanbags for only a day, an evening or more if you want! A brilliant idea to associate luxury and eco friendly

Pampa & Pop : between Paris and Buenos Aires

November 16th, 2010 by admin

Pampa & Pop are coming all the way from Buenos Aires to Paris. With fine fabrics and design, the brand reflects all the creativity of Argentinian artists. From the quietness of the typical streets of Buenos Aires to the crazy rhythm of a city that never sleeps, Pampa and Pop reflects all the contrasts of the Argentinian city. But most of all, with Pampa & Pop, being ethical as well as aesthetic is now possible. Their fabric suppliers are all local craftsmen, and they make sure they are paid rightfully for their work, by working in partnership with people who are engaged in the fight against modern slavery. The brand also works hard to find solutions that are more and more green friendly, successfully combining the quality of their products with the respect of the environment. In that area, they are advanced and sophisticated trend setters for all the green friendly fashion victims.

The little extra : A percentage of their income goes to supporting development projects in Argentina.
