Green consumer habits at the Hotel Gavarni in Paris

September 2nd, 2008 by admin

In France, households account for 50% of CO² emissions. By making careful decisions about what we consume, we can all act responsibly to care for the environment without completely disrupting our lifestyles and levels of comfort.

This is made possible thanks to certified products which guarantee both effectiveness and the certainty of doing something worthwhile for the environment: eco-products. Getting to know these products is a matter of spotting the appropriate environmental logos:

The European Ecolabel  or “the flower”.Green label of all countries members of the European Union.

European Union Européenne and Biological Agriculture. Certifying label that proves that products are coming from biological agriculture on european ground.

NF Environement.
Official green french certificate.

Label AB: Organic Farming, the Ministry of Agriculture’s brand.

Today, eco-labels cover a vast range of everyday consumer products including cosmetics, washing powders, lighting and even furniture and clothes, so you can act on an everyday level to help save the planet. By choosing eco-certified products, you too can do something for the environment and take care of your health – the less we use chemical products, pesticides and fertiliser, the better we’ll feel.

World Earth Festival

June 3rd, 2008 by admin

The World Earth Festival invites each of us to become a player in protecting the environment. It was launched in 2004 by Terralliance. Its aim is to provide nations worldwide with an opportunity to celebrate the planet together and at the same time, raise awareness of how fragile it is and commit to protecting it.

In France, the celebration will take place from June 13-15 at the Parc de Bercy, with a special emphasis on the two key issues which led to the Festival being set up: solidarity and the environment. During this three-day event, over 6000 visitors are expected at the Parc for a number of events: an “association village” with 50 exhibitors, topical lectures, exhibitions, interactive workshops and a score or so of concerts featuring music from around the world. These events will take place daily from 10am to 10pm and will be completely free of charge.
