EXKi restaurants: fresh, healthy fast food

3 November 2008 by admin

EXKi restaurants now mean that “fast food” no longer needs to be synonymous with bad eating. At the origin of this project were three schoolfriends who came up with the concept of serving quality fast food using natural, fresh produce – at all hours of the day. The first EXKi restaurant opened in Brussels in January 2001. It was an immediate success, and the three friends exported the concept to Luxembourg, Italy and France.

The twin mantras of these establishments are “natural, fresh and ready” and “serving the customer as you would like to be served yourself”. All the products are organic, with the details and nutritional values of all ingredients completely clear for each dish. Even the cleaning products are environmentally-friendly (Ecovert) and the electricity used is 100% green. This environmental awareness is attractive – and enjoyable, too!

Our recommendations: raisin and nut twists (organic bread), the “Romulus” with duck mousse, organic fig jam, celeriac, carrots and parsley; wholewheat bread triangles (also organic) such as the “Cristano” with vegetable Carpaccio, basil pesto and shards of parmesan. Delicious!
