We found more than a simple shop at 118 rue de Longchamp. Opened few years ago, this concept-store, designed like a boudoir, is inspired by the 18th century precious salons. Fanciful ambiance between silver candelabrum, and treasures came from faraway countries. Here, we feel free and we dare to try on Allude cashmere, Australian jeans by Superfine, head jewels by Laetitia Crahay or other Milanese silks and scarfs by Altea. In fact, the whole world of luxury brands is in Komplex-store. Stéphanie Renoma and Antonin know how to make us totally addicts to this universe.

This year, Christmas lights innovate big time. Indeed, the world’s most beautiful avenue shines wearing environmental colors thanks to solar neon lights displayed on 200 trees of the Champs-Elysées. The plane trees sparkle like stars, adorned with little mirror discs, hung on branches and reflect the neon’s light. By the way, these neon lights have been made of a combination of LEDs which consume 31 000 kWh only, instead of  the 480 000 kWh of five years ago. The energy compensation is produced in a solar power station of the Pyrénées-Orientales. One aesthetic and ethical alternate to the usual little lights used during end-of-the-year festivities.

Earlier this year, we’ve presented the Designpack Gallery, this space exclusively dedicated to the art of eco-friendly packaging. We’ve referred to the arrival of the first 100% recycled Christmas tree. The end of the year is coming, it’s time to find back our creative child soul. Ultra easy to build, this green tree is made up of 43 recycled plastic bottles, its trunk and its foot are 100% recycled cardboard. The good news is that after Christmas, the tree can be stored for one year or taken apart and put in sorting bins, clever isn’t it? Especially that for each purchased tree, €2 are donated to WWF which plants trees and maintains forests. A responsible attitude for a green Christmas.

Until January 8th, 2012, the exhibition Green Attitude gathers teenagers at Studio 13/16 of the Center Pompidou. Fun and artistic, it suggests a series of experiments geared towards sustainable development. Under the direction of the visual artist Regis-R, the studio has been cleverly transformed in an exhibition space and workshop. Teens can meet 16 artists who make them discover new disciplines closely related to the environment. Teenagers have the opportunity to create a unique mix of sounds from nature, graffiti ultra natural made in moss and mud, or a design object with recycled materials. With this new approach, younger generations are able to better understand environmental issues. Not to be missed.

This year, the Christmas Village at Trocadéro, in partnership with the Hautes-Alpes, is dedicated to the mountain. At the bottom of the Eiffel Tower, it contains a hundred of small chalets that offer a wide choice of regional and traditional products. Many activities are suggested, such as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on real snow, or else ice rink. Not to mention the huge ice dome within which a 3D movie about the Hautes-Alpes is shown.
